Although the win was the first Mega jackpot paid out by the online slot, the game awarded 238,594 smaller jackpots, of which 45 were in its Major category, since it went live on the provider’s network in February. The most recent win pushes the total paid out so far by the new title to more than €14.2 million.
In April, a JackpotCity player won €10.7 million while playing the original Mega Moola game. The most recent wins mean that the total amount of money paid out by the provider’s progressive network since its beginning has topped €1.1 billion.
Microgaming was pleased to confirm the win which saw another player join the so-called millionaire’s club. The provider’s chief commercial officer, Jean-Luc Ferriere said in a press release that the first Mega Moolah: Atlantean Treasures Mega jackpot was another important moment in the history of the progressive jackpot network.
Ferriere added that the provider planned to expand its collection of progressive games with titles that would diversify the gameplay on offer and create more chances to win.
Mega Moolah: Atlantean Treasures was developed by Neon Valley Studios for Microgaming. The mythical lost city of Atlantis inspired the theme of the game, which joined the original safari-themed online slot, as well as the road race-themed 5 Reel Drive and the ancient Egyptian mythology-themed Isis.
The slot has 5 reels and 10 paylines that are set among the sunken columns and arches of the ancient city. The reels feature various undersea creatures, traditional symbols such as 7s and Bars, and pearls and the pink-haired mermaid that is the game’s Expanding Wild symbol.
The other slot features include Respins that are triggered when Wilds land, and the possibility of collecting pearl symbols to improve the chances of the jackpot bonus round being triggered. The bonus round offers players the chance to spin a wheel that could award them the Mini, Minor, Major, or Mega jackpot.
Earlier this month, Microgaming added another new title to the progressive slot family. Absolootly Mad: Mega Moolah, which has a theme inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, was launched on 5 May.
The brand-new game has 5 reels, 243 ways to win, Rolling Reels, Free Spins, and the bonus round in which players can try to win the famous progressive jackpot.
